









“I like to think of my style as a hybrid of both documentary photojournalism and street photography merged with the almighty flash. Both humor and social justice issues are main themes in my work.”
Fenstermacher was recently selected as the winner of the 2021 Paris International Street Photo Beach and Pool Series category, and the overall winner of the 2020 Miami Street Photography Festival International Series contest with his work documenting the Black Lives Matter movement. In 2017 his work on underground wrestlers won the 15th Annual Smithsonian Photo Contest for the American Experience category. His work about the stigma of mental illness has been featured in The Huffington Post.
Fenstermacher has photographic experience working on four continents and shoots for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the San Francisco Standard, and Content Magazine. Dan holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from San Jose State University and teaches photography at West Valley Community College in Saratoga, CA.
